Hello everyone
I wrote a post before saying that my lulu giving me hard time when I tried to convert her to pellets and healthy food and many nice people responded with good advices.
Well sadly , now I know why she was the way she is ,She was diagnosed with PBFD . The news were devastating and heart breaking and I cried my eyes out
But what pulled me back was that knowing that it's fate and my little girl who was mimicking laughs and sounds and having a good time as if she would say " I don't care mommy Im strong enough" . Im sure she knows something wrong by the way her feathers look but nevertheless every week she would come with new word or sounds by her own .My little girl is stronger even more than me and I would be her rock
We still have another test after 90 days and I pray to god that it will be negative

So Im asking now for your advice If anyone passed though this experience before and what did they do for parrot to make them comfortable

Thank you

So sorry to hear this devastating news! I don't have any experience with this to pass on to you. Hopefully another member will be able to help. **Hugs**

I'm so sorry hon, that's awful :( I don't know how to help either, but I wanted to tell you I'm sorry for you. My heart goes out to you. Love her as much as you can. I guess none of us are ever guaranteed a tomorrow with our fids. Loving them for today is good advice for everyone.

Thank you so much for the advice dear . It feels better when you find people who understand what we go through. You are right my girl deserve to be loved dearly

Oh my! What absolutely devastating news! :( I am so sorry! Fingers are crossed for you and Lulu that the next set of bloodwork comes back NEGATIVE!!

Was Lulu housed in the same vicinity as your other birds? Will you have them tested, too, especially since PBFD is quite contagious?

Well Im Seriously thinking of rehoming them since both of them are not deeply attached to me but I do love them so I should think what is best for them
They were in second floor while my lulu in the first one but I will have to do the test any way twice to make sure they are good

There's no recover from this disease! There's no known treatment for PBFD.

OP, very sorry to hear about the news. Hope the next test comes back negative.

I read about some cases where the bird will naturally develop immunity against the virus but they are so few:(

That's very rare though unfortunately. I do hope they'll find a treatment for it one day. One day soon!!!!!
