Dad is actually a normal (though with some nice genetics obviously). He was a rescue from the ASPCA in Lancaster. He is a bit of a psycho and I am the only person he tolerates. I've always wondered if he would be better off in a single bird home that way he would have to deal with people instead of choosing other birds. Then, I worry no one would have the tolerance to deal with him and he would end up back in a shelter or smacked across the room when he is being frustrating or aggressive. Soooo with me he stays
He is most likely a Pearl, if you kept having all Pearl babies, there's your answer, he is a Pearl. When Pearl males goes through their first molt, they molt out all Pearls and turns into a normal grey.
I know but I always call him normal! It became a habit since whenever people asked me what color everyone was and I told them pearl they looked at me funny since he looked different than the girls... I found out they shed out there feathers when the babies started getting their feathers in. Then, I waited in anticipation for them to go through their first molt since I wanted both of them to be girls! Luckily they were. Ryner got stuck with a male name though since I thought she was a boy at first Whoops She doesn't seem to notice so far
Yea people do get confused....Ryner is a interesting name, never heard of the name before....She probably can care less that it's a boy's name...lol...perhaps she's a tom girl?
