VINNY - Vasmaeri Eclectus
Hi guys,

We have a CAG who is 9yrs old. We are getting a new Eclectus baby on Friday so last night we set up his cage. We had to relocate the Grey back into his previous cage since it would be a better fit for him and the Eclectus situation.
He hasn't been in that cage for a few years but he was in there a long time before.

Last night we had to clean cages and take him out of his. This is always a huge traumatic ordeal. He was very angry during the move but went right in his new cage himself (after a lot of maneuvering).
I covered him up after a bit and he went to sleep.

This morning he is hanging out in the back of his cage. He only ate a couple of pieces of fruit and is in his pouting mood. He does this if something "Bad" happens and it normally lasts a few days.

Now however he is sitting on his perch and his one foot is up and he is fluffed up and shivering a bit.
Could this just be stress? Could he be sick?
If I take him to the vet he will REALLY be stressed....:(
I am also not able to go until tomorrow afternoon....if they can get me in then.

I was reading up on body language and it says that if he's ruffled then he's just relaxed so I'll just give him til later today and see how he's doing.

Thanks for any and all advice!!!

I also just added a reg. light bulb to the top of his cage w/ a clip light to add a little warmth in case he was chilly....I should be getting the full spectrum bulb later on today. He hates the new light of course.

Sounds like he's just freaked out from the cage change. I'd take out the light bulb unless it's really cold-let him get used to the cage for a while first. If his droppings are normal and he's eating I wouldn't worry too much. It takes my grey a long time to adjust to changes unless I go really slow with introducing change.

Yeah, I think he's just freaked out. I'm at work right now, but hopefully he's better when I get home. His poop does look fine.
He has an amazing memory and really knows how to hold a grudge!

Well, he seems fine now, so I guess it was just stress. :)
