My sweet Ruby said her first word on Sunday! :D She said, "Hi!" not quite in the flirty, drawn-out way her big "sister" Jade does. She said it a couple of times and she's also learned to wolf whistle.

She just turned 5 months old last week (8/11) so I'm not sure if this really counts, but I'm counting it. I'm not really expecting anything else for awhile.

That's fantastic news, congrat's HRH Di

Starting so young Ruby is sure going to be a talker.
Their first words are always to cutest, you want them to say it again and again.
Try record Ruby, great listening to her at a later stage, especially to see how she is improving. I often play Mishka her voice recordings of when she was younger, she happily chats back to the recording, it's hilarious.
Keep up the great work, keep talking and talking and talking

Congratulations, that's great news! And at 5 months old, that's amazing. I've heard of greys that didn't say a single word until one, or even two years old! Thanks for sharing; it's always nice to hear all of the birdie's progress.

I think it's because of the good example her big sister sets.

I know you are excited. Mark the day on your bird calandar. Rosie did not say hello until she was 9 months old. She still has a small vocabulary at 1.5 years but I love her anyway. We are happy for you.

Well aren't you the proud Mama, Congrats Di! :)

Congrats! Before you know it, you'll be wishing she'd stop talking!!! LOL!!!

Aw Congrats!!!!
I don't mean to sound dim-witted but what is a "wolf-whistle"? Like a howling type of whistle or something??? I have saw many members use the term on this forum and am totally unfamiliar with it...

Thanks, everyone. I'll try to record it. I don't know where she learned to whistle...that is one talent that skipped me.

I honestly didn't want a CAG for their talking ability. If she never talked, I would be fine with that. I've always loved the way they look and then the more I researched them, their intelligence. Smart is very cool.
