Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
She's as sweet as they get. She's very much like Karen's BTM, in that she's always rolling around upside down, playing with your fingers in her feet and her beak.

She is a mush mac and a half... of course... though she is still a bit on the shy side.

She has the attention span of a gnat. She is into everything, and we are in heavy duty boundary setting mode with her. She just doesn't stop.

The other day she unbolted Sally's entire cage. Like EVERY DANG SCREW.

I've had to switch to heavy duty quick links because the ordinary ones in the amazon cages got bent beyond recognition, as did some of their bell toys...

And speaking of toys... she is part termite... goes through her toys, then seeks out the other bird's toys...

So it's a lot of: "It's not your turn." "That's not yours" "Get off of there." and "No pinching!" Right now. Very much like having a toddler around. It can be exhausting.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh when I read this! :D She sounds like quite a handful! I'm just imagining her scurrying around leaving a trail of destruction with 2 tired humans following the trail...
Was just wondering if she's a talker? - If so, I bet she's going to be "It's not your turn." "That's not yours" "Get off of there." and "No pinching!" all day long!

She's talking some. She's only about 15 months old, so she is just getting started.

She loves going out, but unlike Maggie, she is no longer good in the car. I'm still trying to get her car seat trained. She's fine once we get to where we are going, but she can be a pain in the butt in the car. She gets overly excited on car rides.

I know how you feel. I have 3 macaw toddlers in the house at the moment. Training one gets on your nerves, training 2 makes you want to move, but 3 makes you question your sanity

Fortunately Kenzo (Honeys brother) is being shipped to Holland on Saturday, then I'll be down to my own 2 destroying jetfighter toddlers.

Forgot to mention, mine are also free range chickens (love that expression) except for Kenzo, who is caged at night.

Yeah. I have six free range chickens in the house. Five behave. One doesn't.

I "only" have 4 and usually the 3 of them behave, but since the fifth temporary addition, the whole house seems to be moving. Sugar and Tino is mature and usually don't misbehave, but since Kenzo and Honey are siblings, they play a lot and often loudly. Then Trudi joins them. Eventually Sugar gets so annoyed, that he will try to shut them up by screaming at them, which really doesn't do anything else but contribute to the noise :52:

And Trudi, who is in the "want to find the breaking point of every single object she sees"- stage. Especially computer keyboards are irresistable. She has already broken 3 and 2 of them are on labtops, so they are not easily changed.

But oh heck, I love them all all the same :10:

Young birds in the house "lively up" the older ones...

Mark any updates on Sweetpea? I have a soft spot for that one :)

Yep. She laid six eggs this year.

She still has a two phone book a week shredding habit.

Mushy as ever. Self entertains just as well. Gets along with everyone, including the new baby.

Congrats on your baby Mark! I'd be glad to send Zoe over there to train her on her chaos creating skills [emoji16]. Zoe is still hell on wheels.

She actually reminds me a lot of Zoe.

She's the same sort of constant motion, rolling around down your shoulder, upside down playing with your fingers with her beak and her feet... just the hyper baby macaw thing...

Zoe is 4. When will she grow out of it? [emoji16]

Well she's also a BTM...

Ordinarily I'd guess 5-7 years... but red fronts and BTM's are the most mischievous of the bunch in so many ways...

Some of them don't. They are so smart, their little brains are always going...

And I'd love to play with Zoe sometime!

I'm going to take her to Uncle Mark on holiday one of these days and leave her for a long weekend and come back to see if his place is still standing [emoji16]

Zoe's newest thing is she loves me as long as my wife isn't in the room. If Karen comes in she puffs up and pins and tries to protect Karen from me. If I happen to be holding her and Karen comes in she gives me a good pinch and then flies to Karen.

I told her she's an ungrateful bird. I do all the feeding and bathing and playing with her. Karen's schedule is so busy that she rarely has time for her. Doesn't matter, she's still in heavenly bliss when she's with her (as you can see in the pics above)

I actually finished hand feeding one for somebody a few years ago... and I've bird sat another one a few times. So I have lived with them before and survived it...

Sounds like it's time to revisit that experience [emoji16]

:04: WE CAN REALLY MESS WITH SARAH'S HEAD NOW..."

The other day, I went to the semi-annual bird fair, which is always a dangerous place for me...

I came home with a brand new giant double macaw cage. (To replace that 20+ year old Kings cage that was on its last legs. But that's NOT what I told Sarah.) And a bankers box full of new toys.

In my most excited voice I brought in the new cage... and she was slack jawed when she saw the size of it. "YEAH. I ALSO BOUGHT A NEW HYACINTH..." I said. "DAD NO! NO WAY! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO TO ANYMORE BIRD FAIRS! YOU'VE ABUSED THE PRIVILEGE... "

And after a minor freak out, I showed her my new Tee shirt...

:p She actually thought I...

Just because of all those times in the past I...

:04:SO I'M THINKING THAT YOU JUST COME BY, AND WE ANNOUNCE THAT I HAVE A NEW BUDDY BIRD FOR SWEEPEA... cuz that is the OTHER macaw I've always threatened to come home with...

That would be awesome! We'll have to try that some time [emoji5]
