I know its been a while and wanted to let everyone know that Roxy is doing well. She's gaining her tail and flight feathers back along with the her chest feathers. She is a total character and our family just lovers her to death. Once you get used to the occasional SWAK that just about scares you to death when your not ready for it. I swear she does it on purpose because she knows your not ready for it.
I can play with her, hold her, giver her scratches, but for some reason that beak is always biting. Its like shes BI-POLAR lol. One second shes all lovey and the next she's taking a bite out of you. Its not where I'm rubbing either. This is the only part about her I don't care for. I could handle the nip because I did something wrong but its all the time. Its like when your petting her and then look away for two seconds at the tv or something BAM she gets you. When you walk by her perch shes reaching out to bite. Its not a nip either she bites and bites hard. Shes shouldn't be bored because we always change rooms, give her toys, always feeding her so she gets plenty of attention. We go wood shopping at Menard's once a week so she can chew away. We just hope she overcomes this. When I see her about to bite I just grab her beak and hold it LIGHTLY and say no. Of course this doesn't help because as soon as you let go, Yep she takes a stab at ya.
We will never get rid of her but hoping this stops. If anyone has any suggestion please feel free. I will try and get a few more pictures up to show you guys her recovery. She really is looking much better.
Have a great week,
Chris
