So sad, my gorgeous Romeo got out his cage and my 2 dogs got a hold of him! I feel like dirt for it. Sorry my Romeo, love you allways, miss you too. Heartbroken! : (

Thank you, I just feel like a total failure for not being able to protect him. Off course I'm livid at the dogs! And myself! I'm putting locks on my cages now that will stay on when the doors are open! I took him to take care of him and I've failed. In tears now.

I'm sorry for your loss. What a horrible thing to have happen. Please don't be mad at your dogs, though. They did nothing "wrong". All you can do is figure out how to never let it happen again.

I understand how you feel more than I would like. I made the same mistake yeas ago and lost my darling Pretty Bird. I still have nightmares about it. All you can do is prevent it from happening again. I have so much guilt about it but know that I gave her a great life when she was with me. I hope you can find a was to deal with it. :(

So sorry for your loss. As stated earlier, it was instinct for the dogs, they couldn't help it. I'm sure you did the best you could too.

Thanks guys, what amazes me is that they never bother the doves finches and canarys in the garden, but they always after my pet birds. Think its a jealousy issue. Will miss him dearly and wish I couldve done more. But alas, there's no bringing him back now

Such sad news, very sorry to hear this. :( Do not blame yourself, it's just one of those tragic accidents. :(

Oh i am so sorry. This is a fear for many of us, and just an accident. Not your fault or the dog's fault. My budgie escaped her cage twice when i was at work, and luckily didn't fly into the dog's room.
So sorry for how you must be feeling right now.

Very sad to hear this. My sympathies for your loss. I'm sure you did your best by him... there are so many things that can go wrong, please don't feel it was your fault.

Thanks all, feeling a bit better about it now, all the cages are now "birdy-pick" proofed, no way the litllies can lift cage doors any more
