Gilbert Oliver, Blue Crown Conure; Georgie, Sun Conure (2/8/01-8/8/12) RIP little girl; Percy, budgie 1993-1999. RIP Pepito-spanish timbrado canary
Just since we are all bird lovers, I thought I'd share a few cute pics.
Nothing unusual, because we have robins nesting all down my street but this particular family is in my yard (Gilbert's favorite tree actually). I noticed the mom on the nest back around Memorial Day....I have been trying not to bother them or draw attention to them but still capture some photos.
Mom on the nest:

They hatched!

Fledgling on my hammock (this evening):

I think I was particularly happy because this is the same nest location as the ill-fated mourning doves last year. That made me sad that they all died--apparently something attacked. :( So I have been really rooting for these baby robins this year. So happy to see this little guy out and about, with mama perched above, watching.

They are so sweet! I love the baby's colouring on his chest:) I'm so happy that they are thriving. What does Gilbert think about them taking over his favourite tree?

He doesn't mind. I showed him the nest and I point out the other nests to him when we go for walks.
Honestly I think he would climb over and start chatting with them (and scare them) so I don't let him too close. He doesn't understand that everyone doesn't want to be his friend. His 'wild bird' skills are lacking. LOL

Awww, I can't imagine anyone - feathered or not- not wanting to be Sweet Gilbert's friend:)

Awww, thanks for sharing the photos, what an adorable baby. I love Robins, we have lots of them too. They build interesting nests and feed their chicks long after they fledge.

I had commented how good their nest building skills are. That thing is sturdy!
