Yall just let me know if I'm posting too much, lol, but thought I'd share a few pictures of River outside for the first time since I've had her and she's wearing her Aviator harness! It was finally warm enough to take her outside for a little bit.
I was so excited and she did so well! she wasn't scared and didn't appear nervous at all. She was a little quiet at first, but after like 2 or 3 minutes she started her "talking" again. She's always mumbling about something. We got some pictures, just with the cell phone, I haven't had the chance to pull out my professional stuff and still be able to hold her. Once she gets more comfortable in the harness and I can get her a perch made, I'll get some portrait shots of her =)

Thank you all! =)
She enjoyed it I believe. If it's still nice and warm when I get home after school, we may try and got sit out on the porch for a little bit.
I can get some literature reading done and she can enjoy some sunlight.
=)

There's no such thing as "posting too much" if what you're posting is about such a gorgeous girl!! ;)

She is just adorable! That one pic reaaaally shows her 'weaponry' off to maximum effect LOL! No wonder a mac can deliver such an impressive bite!

She looks like she loved the fresh air and I'm sure she's going to demand some more sun soon ;)

Haha. Thank you.
My boyfriend's younger brother is scared of her beak, and he hasn't even met her yet. But he watched the video of her chattering and freaked out when she was grabbing my earring. Lol, he calls her a pterodactyl

She is lovely!

What a beautiful girl! She looks so happy out there:)

She is beautiful and very cute! :D I love those pictures! I especially love the one with the horse! Beautiful!

What wonderful pictures! How old is she? Was it hard to get her to accept the harness? I want to get Rico to accept a harness eventually. He's well known for flying up into the trees and staying there for days on end, and where I live that would be so dangerous for him... I don't want him to get hurt, or lost!

She was born at the end of July so she's 7 months old.
She did not like the harness at first and was terrified of the flight suit. I introduced her to the harness a couple times a week for about two months I think and we finally got it on. She's had it one several times now.
With the flight suit, I moved it to where she could see it outside the cage and slowly brought it closer. Eventually placing it in the cage on one of the perches she doesnt use very much so she could see it up close.
Last night, we finally got the flight suit on. it was MUCH more difficult to get it on her than the harness. you can't extend the bands on the flight suit. and taking it off, the sound and pulling at the velcro scared her.... =(
but she wore it for about an hour and a half and watched a movie with me =)

Can I just say you are my hero for naming your bird river song!
Does she say "hello sweetie," and "spoilers"?

haha thank you!
She says "Hello" we're still working on the "sweetie" lol

and surprisingly, she is VERY quiet for a parrot. she'll talk to herself all day long, but rarely ever is loud. She is only loud if WE, the humans, get loud and she's joining in on the conversation, or if the maltese dogs get to barking. then she squawks, but I think its more of her telling us to shut them up because soon as they are quieted down, she gets really quiet.
