River got a little confused.... but not really.

Everyday when we wake up and again when we get home from work is when the birds are the most chatty. They start talking up a storm. Two of the things River can say are "I'm a good boy" and "Good Morning!" A couple days ago when we got home from work River starts yelling "I'm a good boy! I'm a good boy! I'm a good morning!" I had to laugh a little! LOL. But then I told him, well, I guess you're right, you do make the morning good!

Ahahaha!! That's too cute! Chichi was hanging out with me yesterday when a friend came by. We were talking and of course he has to chime in. That's when he's his chattiest. Then I'm talking over him and have to take him to the cage be ause I can't hear anything, the older I talk to squawkier he gets and the more he talks! Silly birds.

Aww bless his little heart lol. He was so excited it sounds like he did get confused. That's so cute. About the most I get in my house is the "come here" whistle and a whole lot of birdie noise coming from all directions lol.

It's really quite remarkable when they put things together like that! I'm not sure it's exactly confusion, it's finding out how the sounds go together. They aren't speaking, but I believe they do learn that the sounds have some meaning, some cause and effect. Dunno. But Scooter learned to say "Pretty Scoo-bird" from learning "Pretty Bird" and "Scoo-bird". Whether it was a confusion or not, it got reinforced and it stuck.

True ,they do sound out things and put them together to their own liking.
Then we reinforce what we like by treating either verbally or with food.
I think they also like the sound of our laughter. Stella will hang upside down from her perch just to get my attention when Im walking past her cage. I reinforced it by laughing every time....now she does it every time. I didn't touch or treat her , I just laughed.

Pepper has this creepy, sadistic kinda sounding laugh (until she throws in the wooooo! afterwards) LOL. River has just started trying to laugh too.
