My lovebird, Budgey (named so because my mom insisted she looked like a budgie lol), passed away a couple weeks ago. I had gotten her very young, and had her for 14 years. The last few years, I didn't spend much time with her as I went away for college (and lived in dorms, then an apartment with no pets allowed) and so she stayed with my parents. The day she passed, my mom messaged me all day long about how oddly she was acting (very quiet, not standing quite right, not really eating). When my dad got home from work, he took her out of the cage, and a moment later she passed away in his hand
She had developed a plucking problem pretty early on, after my parents and I went on vacation and left her with my grandma. We had tried various types of collars but the little Houdini got out of all of them (or pulled so it looked like she'd strangle herself, so we'd take it off for her!) so we just tried our best to keep her occupied and clean.
Here are some pics
