We lost our first bird today. Our little Cloud that we just brought home last night. When we woke up this morning he was doing fine. Then he started having seizures around 11:00am. They continued with only brief minutes between each and he was completely lethargic. I called Petco and they were WONDERFUL!!! They said they would pay his vet bills.... Unfortunately there were no vets willing to treat birds in any of the vet offices today. I even tried Vets that were an hour away. He passed about an hour ago. He seemed so peaceful! I love you my little Cloud I know you are now soaring high above the clouds

Oh, no! That's so sad that you lost your new little baby after having had him for only a day. Had he been in quarantine from your other birds?

Hugs.

Yes he was in quarantine from my conures. However, all of the budgies and Parakeets we got from the same batch just on different days so no quarantine on those. I have checked them all and seem to be ok but I will be keeping a close eye on them.

I'm so sorry to hear of Cloud's passing! That's very hard on you and I send hugs and warm thoughts your way. (((Michelle)))

Thank-you so much! We all layed on the floor with him all day. The last thing we wanted was for him to be alone. I am thankful that even though it was a short time in a loving home he learned what love is all about!

I am sorry for you loss, the poor baby, may he rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Cloud.

Michelle so sorry for your loss. I wonder what caused it. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. Fly free little cloud.

I don't think it was an illness. He was totally fine one minute and having seizures the next. I checked all of them out well before we brought them home. all was clean and healthy looking. I'm thinking he had some kind of birth defect and it just happened to show flare up at that time. All the other birds are just fine. I check on them constantly!!!!

Thanks for everyones concerns and well wishes!

so good to see your getting over him so soon..... ur the happy kinda person i can see:)

I don't think I will ever get over him. My animals are what keeps me going and gives me a reason to be productive. I love my animals beyond what anyone could imagine. I think about all my animals that have passed every single day.

Watching Cloud die was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do! But I feel like it has made me a stronger person.

Having 6 birds is a full time job. and I love each and every one of them!!!

My Baby (Tea Cup Yorkie) has more clothes than I do. I dress her in something different every day and she even wears panties that I made for her. They are so cute!
