Rio has been on many outings lately...home Depot, a patio at a restaurant and daily walks (until the wildfires here), and sitting on the deck with us! She is getting used to it and likes the new Java wood perch I put in. I'm trying to make most outings fun so she doesn't associate it with nail clippings etc. You should see the looks I get (most people think a dog is in there!).

I don't think Rio appreciates the typo (Rico's backpack). She just made her unhappy noise in my ear!

Celltei Pak-O-Bird...very well made. It has places for toys, food and water dishes and an easy clean out tray! They are pricey, but it was worth it. I'm just crazy enough to wear it!

OMG I have to get one! My GCC loves little hangouts like that, she loves her carrier. It would be a piece of cake to get her in. Do you ever bike-ride with it?

I haven't used it to bike ride yet. I got the medium (sized for an Amazon) since I would like to use it as a travel cage too. The perch is semi big for her, so I used the sticky medical tape to help her grip. I just got a java wood perch for it, but I think the tape will still help. It has sides that come down for windy days/less sun. I like that I can also buckle the backpack in to the car...more secure! They're worth the price!

I checked the website, it's pricey but soooo worth it! Is it easy to wear facing front? I would like for her to see where she's going. Would it be do-able facing front on a bike? I think that would be cool, the closest thing to outdoor flight for her in a quiet neighborhood...like armchair travel! I am all over this! Thank you for posting the pic and info! :)

I would think wearing it on the front would be okay...depends on the length of your legs (whether they would hit the bottom or not). I would call and ask them! Check Wayfair, ebay, and Craigslist too, since they do come up (Wayfair is where I purchased mine).

You're welcome! Glad to help!

That is awesome!!! I will have to get one for Rory for days when he's tired of the harness.

From the title I thought that Rio has a small backpack that you put on him like a harness :) It looks very nice. I would love to have something like that.

Someone thought that at the aviary too...now that would be truly interesting! She'd carry pine nuts and safflower seeds!

Yes, Kali you could wear it on the front. That's what I do sometimes because Boomer could see more of me that way. I got the size meant for conures which is plenty of room but I often wished I went the next size up so the looking out windows are even bigger.

My only hang up is I feel a little silly walking around with a bird in my backpack lol! Especially when he gives out a sun conure screech.

Ok then the conure size it is. I don't want it so big that I tip over! So does boomer enjoy it? And truthfully, I couldn't care less how I look or what people think! :). If they don't like it then they can take a flying leap, I just want to bring exciting new experiences to their lives. One of my budgies, Gadget, is very bonded with me and I think he might enjoy it also. Anyway, my mother is a seamstress so I might be able to tweak the window a bit with the right materials, i.e., mesh and what not.

Sounds like you have a plan! I don't care either (what people say) since it gets my girl out. Most people do think it's pretty awesome though. Those that look at me crazy, so what! I have to admit when we were at the Santa Monica pier and I saw a toy dog with high tops, hat, tutu and more... I thought Wow! Crazy! We're all just a little crazy about something, but I don't hide it!:31::rainbow1:

Did you check out Wayfair? The thing I liked about them was the mesh was upgraded already and shipping was free.

Hahnzel loves his. He has the small size. The only problems we have is spilling the water dish. I just have to be careful not to over fill it before we walk. It does come with a water-bottle attachment if you want.

I LOVE that backpack!!! What an awesome idea!!! I bet Rio is having a BLAST being taken on so many great adventures!! :D

Tell Rio to calm down...the typo's been fixed. ;)
