Dont worry its all birdie power. They seem to really enjoy it. They take turns flying and landing like they are trying to keep it going.

Should I be worried and try to prevent the blades from turning at all.

I have never seen anything like that!!!
It's cute, but maybe it'd be better if they didn't frequent the fan just in case somehow some way someday they are exposed to an activated fan?
Or maybe I'm just being paranoid. I doubt you ever use that fan but in case a guest did???
I dunno.
It's really a fun sight, though.

LOL, they are loving it, please show us some more. Not sure re safety. Very amusing though.

PS re above post you could put tape over all the fan switches when you have guests.

That is adorable. I don't see a worry as long as it doesn't go faster than they do. Tape on the switches as others have said, or unplugging it in the ceiling if you need complete assurance.

That ceiling fan is in my room. I havent used it since i got them. If the switch gets turned on its only the light part.

All things considered, I say "ride on, birdzszszsz"!

Looks great to me. As far as I am personally aware (And someone please correct me if they have heard otherwise) the only time a ceiling fan poses any real danger is when it is running. I can't imagine with it off it poses any more danger than any wall in the house.

Love the video - Tsali loves the parrot powered ceiling fan as well, but he isn't able to get it going as fast as your guys.

When I was a teen, that means more than 20 years ago, my parakeet loved getting on a fan blade and riding. Yes we would push it, it was off. Never on when Tweety was out. He loved to ride the blade. As long as you are controlling the fan, why not. Let them have fun.

Please show some more of their fun to us, loved to watch them having such a good time. :)

Grace, I think that whole idea is disgusting and shameless. Imagine trying get these helpless little birds to turn the blades of that ceiling fan, just in a clever scheme to sell electricity back to the power grid.

Shameless.

(Tell me if it works, I will get my hamster treadmill out of mothballs for Salty to use,)

My parakeet Tweety loved to ride the fan. It was never on with him out because he would try to go to it. He did exactly what your's are doing lol.

Yes Al! Break out that treadmill! I'll bet you a cold one your little Saltmiester would run his little legs off for you! ( for a couple yummy pine nuts I assume tho lol)

is it bad that the first place my mind goes when reading your post is to a mental image of salty with a stick attached to his harnass hanging out over his head with a pine-nut hanging from the end, and him hauling butt on a treadmill?

Jim, I dont really have a hamster treadmill, but what a cool trick that would be. I have to see if they make a larger diameter one though, a regular one would be too small. I hope its not a custom made one, like the stupid bicycle ( which cost more then Salty did). That would be real dumb, right, Jim? Right? Right? Talk me down, buddy!

Oh my gosh that is the FUNNIEST thing I have seen in a long time! :D

They seem to be really enjoying themselves on the merry go round LOL

Those are some cool birds LOL
