Well a girl... that is great... that is why I got an Eckie... I knew Abby was girl when I told the breeder that I wanted a female... Eckies are one of the few breeds where the male and female are different colors.

Angel is a great name...

now she will have a soft southern UK accent..

Avian Biotech does all the DNA testing for bird sexing for the whole continent and beyond and is just 100 miles from here in Tallahassee Florida. They can do it with plucked chest feathers (ouch) or a blood sample. Believe it or not they can tell if it is a male or female from the shell of the egg it was born from!!! I had both Clifford and my B&G Kayko done. When I got Kayko I thought for sure he was a girl as he is a little small at around 1,000 grams, but no... he is just a small male. By the way, when Ekkies were first discovered they thought the green ones and the purple ones were different species... not realizing they so dramatically different between male and female
