It sure does! Now I can try to find a female for a second bird if possible :) although, I know there is never any guarantee that two females won't bond and try to breed anyways (my own experience unfortunately).

A cockatiel won't breed with her, LOL,

It was a pretty great prank to post on Facebook today "it's a girl!" Just days after getting married. Hehehe

Oh that's right you just got married, congrats!!!

You never know. My sister had a cat when I was a kid that loved to hump my stuffed monkey. I had a parakeet a number of years back that loved to kiss itself silly in the mirror.

I am happy for you though - that you not only know Kyo's gender but are happy with it. I know how thrilled I was to find out Skittles was a male.

I saw Kyo's certificate in the other thread. Isn't it cool to have one of those? LOL. Like all fancy and professional!

This is Skittles cert.

You really want to freak them out, show them wedding photos and they'll wonder "how'd you manage to stay so thin for 9mos!". LOL

Congratulations! My GCC is also a girl and is the most loving little clown (with a thin line of an evil streak running down the middle) lol!

wow its amazing that she turns out to be a girl just as you thought  , i was thinking a boy. Anyway she looks beautiful as ever. GO KYO!!!!! . :D

I have been waiting for this post! Glad the results finally came in.

I was SO SURE she'd be a he!
Congrats on your girl :D

Congratulations! I had a feeling she was a girl, too. That ladylike demeanor, I reckon. Lol!

And I love the Facebook prank! Sweet! Hahaha!

Sarah, I am thinking we should DNA Tiki soon...as soon as I overcome the anxiety of cutting into the quick (even though it won't be us doing it). I would like to ask how bad was the clip for Kyo? Do you recommend not doing it if its the first time with the tech for fear of him disliking her for future clips, or do you think it would not matter? Thx

I don't think it was any more unpleasant than her first normal nail trim to be honest! I say go ahead and get it done :)

I remember when Skittles was DNA tested, I didn't hear him make a peep. Of course they take him out of the room to do it (as well as his nails and beak) but if he made a noise, I'd still hear it cause they are only on the other side of the door. I'm glad they do all that outside the room. That way I don't have to see it. It's hard enough comforting them when being examined. It works, but I hate seeing my babies in distress.
