I just want to be straight-forward with you, the odds of you getting anywhere near 600 for that cage are almost non-existant. Someone could buy a larger cage that was brand new for less.

I wish you the best in getting what you are asking, but realistically I can't imagine you getting more than $150 for it.

At least you have been honest with the OP. Personally, those squiggly things at the top and bottom look like bird stranglers. Perhaps one of these oddly decorated restaurants would like this for a decoration, with a fake bird in it? Such as:

The World of Antiques is a World onto itself. There are tools that can be used with products that are fairly common to determine a market price. As the item becomes ever more uncommon, setting a price becomes more 'what the market will bare.' Is this 'restored' Antique Bird Cage worth 600.00 Canadian. I do not know. Is there someone out there that will pay that price, more than likely. Making that match becomes the challenge.

As part of the restored 'used' cage market, the 150.00 USD is likely in the middle of the market price. Whether it is a fair price is a question that sits between the buyer and the seller.

Restoleum is a well respected Name Brand product. They, as many paint suppliers have long worked to reduce /eliminate toxic chemicals used to provide long life, depth of appearance, longevity and most important to Parrots owners: resistance to chipping.

Powder Coating is a well established and is proven to resist chipping. Even the best paints on today's market cannot match that resistance to chipping.

Regarding paint, the primary concern with the older Paints was the Lead loading. And when restored, was the old paint 'fully' removed from all surfaces of the cage, especially the corners. The other concern with a used cage would be whether the cage was coated with a rust resistant product like Zinc. To remove that coating would require extensive sand blasting.

Just my two-cents:
Your efforts in providing a cage that presents well is clear. Its best marketing would be to the non-Parrot, Antique Market, which has none of the concerns that would existing in the used cage Parrot Market. Also, it is not flooded with newer used cages at the much lower price range.
