Best Friends is quite a popular animal sanctuary here in the US. They have a number of animals and a wide variety of species. They're located in the western part of the country so they have the weather on their side which enables them to house many of the animals outdoors.
They do good work.

I just read the story of the 5 pit bulls. I'm really impressed that they kept working with the dogs, especially the one really mean acting one. Most places would have just put that dog down and been done with it. I'm glad that there was a happy ending to that story. Seems that they (the shelter) are one of the good ones. It's nice to see.

I love to hear of the GOOD shelters, We too have a few good ones here also, but we also have some bad ones, which I guess, unfortunately, we all do.
