Sprite the cinnamon green cheek conure.
At my local shelter they had an amazon (which is very rare... usually the only birds they have are tiels and keets) and he was plucked and had dirty feathers. He also had behavior issues, bit a lot. Luckily he went to an experienced bird owner :)
but what I really don't understand is how people spend so much money on these birds, only to treat them wrong! Just dont get it...

If you remember in some of my postings I said some people aren't meant to have birds before I was being shot down saying I don't have the right to say such a thing. Posting like this is the reason why I said it.... sometimes people THINK they're doing the bird some good but they're not. That's when hoarding issue comes in...being terrified of a animal turns into neglect. Sometimes abuse and being treated like a piece of furniture. The list goes on....

I see what you mean. The manager of the breeder i am getting my bird at said that someone came in and asked for a "medium sized cockatoo" because he thought it would look good in his new house.... I saw a lady on Animal Hoarders who hoarded macaws. She had a big aviary for them outside and she knew how to take care of them but she had over 30 so she could no longer give them each the proper care...
