I have been thinking about a new cage for Snoopy because hers is starting to show some rust. (It is a moderately priced powder coated cage and is only about 4 years old) The cage itself has very little, and not where she is likely to come in contact with it; e.g. where the vertical bars pass through the horizontal supports. The main problem is the top (play-top) and bottom trays, which are very badly rusted and chipped. I cover them with paper which is OK for the bottom but only a temporary solution for the playtop. When I do replace her cage I will probably bite the bullet and go with SS or aluminum, as we live near the sea and based on my experience with this cage I suspect that will be cheaper in the long run. However I certainly would not mind being able to postpone that for a year or so. In doing cage research I came upon this site:
Bird Cage Trays | Bird Cage Tray Replacements - Samples I emailed them and they sent a return email saying the trays are $65 and are made from ABS plastic. Does anyone have any experience with this company?
