Canary Winged Parakeet
Hi all, i have been a bird lover my entire life, having various species growing up. I now have a canary winged parakeet. I am curious if there is a way to "sift through" the food to get shelled seeds out. He does "dig" through the seed, i am just curious if there is a way to get the shelled seed out rather than dumping the mixture of half shelled and half not shelled. Thanks!

I imagine a sufficiently strong stream of air would blow the chaff (empty seed husks) off.

I'm afraid of too many seeds, so the poor ol' Rb just gets a few. He eats his pellets and good snacks, and maybe a teaspoon of seeds every few days. I use the BLOWI method, too!
