Red feathers under green

Babies often have red feathers around their neck or on their chest. At his first molt it will be replaced by a green feather. Just consider him special!

All parrots can have a few random splotches of different-colored feathers. It's like their version of freckles or birth marks. It's nothing to worry about as long as they are healthy feathers, and as already suggested, it may disappear with age. Kiwi actually has 2 or 3 little yellow body feathers smack in the middle of his otherwise green chest-area. We call them his "soul patch". He also has quite a few bright-blue feathers around his vent/underside. We joke the blue that was suppose to be on his front came in on his behind lol, since he is a blue front, but has a barely noticeable amount of blue on his head. They have been there since we got him 5 years ago, and have not gone away with subsequent molts. It's just part of his natural colorations.
