Has any one seen any Red-Bellied Macaws around for sale?

Breeders?

Babies, Juveniles, older Adults?

I don't believe that the red bellied macaws are available in the USA... (as in, I'm not aware of any breeders of them, and only am aware of one as a pet) in fact, I was surprised to see a blue headed macaw being sold as a pet! Both species are relatively rare within captivity, even rarer as pets.

I think the breeder that I am getting my RF macaw from used to have them and sold them to another breeder. I don't know what success they had breeding them. I have heard they don't make good pets.

It's from my understanding that red bellies are difficult to keep within captivity because of their diet requirements and it was hard to get them to eat a captive diet vs a wild diet. I would be interested in hearing if there are in fact any breeders of these birds, although if there are, I would assume that the birds are being kept between breeders who have them to increase the blood line rather than selling them as pets.

There are breeders in the united states, but they just aren't around really. When red bellied were imported and breed besides the fact of the diet, people didn't like the pet quality in them and found them less suitable then other mini macaws. So this led into breeders nt breeding because they were not making any money. More breeders are picking up on the red bellies but they are still very uncommon. A place in new jersey sells them. I really love them and would love to own one because with enough work they can be great.
