Charlie, the Aruensis Red-Sided Eclectus
What are some books you would recommend a new parrot owner read? What books gave you great insight or really helped you in your companionship with your bird? Specifically regarding eclectus, what books would you suggest about the species? Any and all input is much appreciated! :)

Parrot for Dummies is very informative, and you can find it for about $5 on Amazon, or I got mine at Ollie's

A guide to... Eclectus Parrots by Dr Rob Marshall and Ian Ward. I call it my Ecky bible :)
They do "A guide to..." all different birds I have a "A guide to ... Black Cockatoos" as well from when I was fostering one. Very informative. I highly recommend them.

"The Companion Parrot Handbook: aka The Happy Babby Fun Book" by Sally Blanchard
Read it cover to cover in two nights (it's 250 pages). Well written with fun illustrations and really helpful information. Even though it's 13 years old, it's brilliant!
Try and find it 2nd hand, it's very expensive new.

My favourite is Good Parrotkeeping by Robin Deutsch.. it covers species ( a few pages on each one), cages, equipment, toys, safety, diet, nutrition, grooming, health and taming and training :)

And for specific species i have 'A complete pet owners manual-Macaws'.. and its by Barrons..
and i just searched and there is one for the eclectus :)
it is about 'understanding eclectus's, as pets, housing, diet, health care, ect' :)
