We are switching our stove over to gas, I have noticed that alot of the gas stoves have the non-stick coated burners and griddles. Does any one here know of a bird safe gas stove brand? I have talked to a few stove dealers and even though they say oh this brand has no coating or non-stick on it when I look I can see that its their I really don't think they understand. Any suggestions on gas stove brands that would be safe would be greatly appreciated.

I never thought of that. I have a gas stove, I have no idea if the burners are teflon based. I will have to look into that!

I have a ceramic top one, but I didn't see anything about Teflon listed for it. I've had it a few years now. It is electric though if that matters. My mom had a ceramic stove top for decades and I don't think any of our budgies suffered ill effects from it. And they actually lived in the kitchen.

i think everyone just worries too much about what its doing to our birds when the truth is its probly killing us all slowly....

everyone seems so concerned what this and that is doing to our birds what about what its doing to us humans??

People have had parrots as pets for hundreds of years, and used all sorts of things to cook with and heat up the place... I really think most things are OK, as long as it's used in a safe an responsible manner...

Really. The whole environment might be killing us slowly, lol! There are chemicals and hormones in our food, we breathe automotive fumes, cell phones are giving us brain cancer. It's good to be vigilant to some extent, but if you wanted to, you could worry yourself to death before the other things killed you.

thats exactly right!! you need to enjoy your birds not constantly worry yourself sick weather there too hot or too cold or this or that they are birds if they were in the wild they would survive, its common sense same with any pet
