Re: Sheldon is now 1yo.
Sorry no pics. I'm just thrilled I didnt kill the bird this past year. Miracles do happen. He's been an awesome addition to my life. Like I said before, I love my horse but have become very attached to my new feathered friend.
I just have to tell you something funny (it's always "you should have been there" moment). My daughter does a lot of beading and sometimes she'll work at the kitchen table. Sheldon gets curious and checks out the bag of beads. He manages to put a hole in the plastic and pulls a small bead out. I'm worried he's going to eat it, so I'm trying to get it out as kindly as possible. My daughter said she could get it out of his beak and proceeds to give it a try.
It starts with the bird on her left finger and the right fingers are working his beak as he's working hard to keep the bead. She still has him on her finger and up-side-down with her right hand working his beak to get the bead out. Still, Sheldon is determined to keep the bead. I continue to watch the progress and what begins to look like my daughter trying to work ketchup out of a bottle. He eventually gives up the bead which is then replaced by a larger bead. Happy girl, happy Sheldon
Happy Hatchday Sheldon
