- 2 Lorikeets Cookie and Candy .. Candy is half Chattering and she talks like a Gorgie woman
Hello I'm new as we all were at one stage. Last Year I acquired 2 Rainbow Lorikeets ...first we got the Male at 6 weeks he was all lovey dovey then My Cavey decided because he was doing the running man dance at the bottom of the cage we needed to get a female.
We then acquired in my eyes the most beautiful girl in the world 'Candy' 8 weeks ..she's a cross Chattering/Rainbow Lorikeet..she's amazing with her vocabulary. She has a huge range of words and any time you say something she stares at you intensely. Alas Cookie has become aggressive but from the day we got her.
We let them have free range of the house at certain times allowable.. they both hate hands .. but I can offer my arm and say "Hop up" and they will ... they both love exploring me as though I'm I land lot ... yet any imperfection such as a mole or a scratch or pimple they rush to try to rip open and draw blood ..then they try to feed off me :S
Is this normal? I'm afraid they are trying to eat me slowly... they don't do it to anyone else in our family
I love my babies ... but please don't let them out of the cage unless I'm fully covered even then they try digging through my clothes.
