Hey guys, this is the Conure I have been wanting to get.

I talked to the staff today and like I said earlier I can put a deposit on him at the beginning of November. Other than that he is open game to anyone that wants to buy him. I just hope he will be there by that time!

I just want to know what you guys think? From his look do you think if he was on a better diet and a better environment could he start to look better?
From what I see he loves running around all over me he is very active playing with the few toys he has in his cage. He loves to be on his back already and plays all day long in the bedding.

He does come with a free Vet visit, so I will know if anything really serious is wrong with him before I am fully invested. I hope nothing would be so wrong that I would have to give him back, but it's a risk I am willing to take.

He looks to me like he's been molting, how old is he??? You'd be amazed on how much better they look once they had a bath. Also remember, babies are rough with their feathers when they're young....

I don't know how old he really is. I know that he has been at the pet store for at least four months now. They normally get them when they are fully weened. So however long that is till now, maybe 6 months old?

He started plucking his feathers when they pulled him away from his friend they had put him with. So that was the issue, I remember when he pulled ALL his tail fathers. They were all gone and all it was, was his bar butt. So the good thing is he is starting to let them grow back.

I had babies in the past that lost all their tail feathers from jamming them into cages, grates, or fall on them. Babies are rough on their tail feathers....At least he's looking like he's growing his feathers back. Hope he's still there when you guys put a deposit down on him!!! :)

Ask for his papers (I know, I'm always saying this, but it's important and you will find out how old he really is!)

None of my babies have ever looked like that at 4 months, is he on seed? Does he get regular baths? Are they feeding him a variety diet of veggies and fruits? One you put a deposit down, see if you can request variety fruits and veggies if he isn't on them already, we run to the grocery store DAILY for produce for our birds and reptiles.

He's adorable!! Crossing fingers for you :)

Of course their not feeding him the Best they can. :p It's a pet store that's trying to make money so they feed them whatever is the cheapest.

I do know that the staff is really good with the all the birds. They regularly get him the birds out and play with them and have them on their shoulder when they work. It's not like they are neglected animals. Their birds are always use to being touched by others.

When I put a deposit on my other bird, I was able to buy his food for him. This however was before I knew anything about diets and what not. So when I am able to do so with him I will switch him to a pellet diet while he is in the pet store. So at least for the whole month of November he will be on a good diet.

I will say this he looks 100% better than what I saw before.

If for some reason he is gone (Which I won't be too upset as long as it's a good home!!), I am on the list for a Turquoise Conure. So either way I am getting another bird. :p
