My new Zon is extremely quiet. I have not heard one loud noise out of her yet. Sometimes she will make quiet screeching noises and will talk and mimic occasionally.

Will she start making loud noises when she becomes more comfortable?
It won't be a problem when she does begin to vocalize, I'm just concerned that she's so quiet.

I can't remember how long you've had her, but I don't think it's been very long has it?

I only ask because I've had Zilla for just about 3.5 months now and it took her over a month before she started being louder than a "birdie whisper" as I called it. Zilla is still pretty quiet for a parrot. She vocalizes a lot, but it's just "chattering" at a lower level than I expected. My budgie made more noise than Zilla! She still doesn't "flock call" morning and evening like I had been told she would. Only when I get her going a couple times a day.

Yes, I get her going a couple times a day and we make our loud noises together. She loves this, flares her tail, fluffs her neck feathers, stretches her neck out and rolls her head back and lets loose with all her happy noises!

It will happen as she gets more and more comfortable with you and your flock!

Im sure shes still adjusting . You know when she starts to get louder shes feeling safer there. My rehomed zons were quiet at first too.

I've only had her for about three weeks.
I know that she's not completely comfortable yet, but I can see that she's becoming happier each day. She actually tried taking a bath in her water dish today. :)
I have a feeling that she's not going to be extremely vocal. Even when my Cockatiel starts screaming her head off, she stays quiet.

She may be adjusting or may just be quiet. My moms GCA doesn't make a whole lot of noise as a rule. He only gets 'excited' when a favorite food is out;) then he makes a shrilly noise. I'm glad she's settling in and doing better! I bet she's LOVING that huge new cage too:)

Some birds end up being quiet anyway, regardless of it being not likely for a particular species of bird. As long as the bird appears healthy and happy I don't think you should worry :D sounds like all is well and happy, so maybe she might be quiet by nature. It's still really soon, but basically what I'm getting at is that even if after months and months she still isn't excessively vocal it may not mean that she's unhealthy or unhappy being there. Sometimes things just, are. :D what a cute bird though!!
