Parrots
A pair of cockatiels
And pair of African Greys
Hello everyone.
Last month me and my hubby were away for 5 days. The breeder who sold us our AG took her back for babysitting. She took it well. After our return was a bit shy for couple of days and than came back to her normal pretty quickly.
Next week I have to leave again for 10 days. This time my AG will stay at home with my hubby with whom she doesn't get very well. She is biting him, so he won't be able to take her out of the cage and to change the toys inside the cage.
Do you have any advice on how to make it easier for both of them? I am afraid that she'll start plucking because of luck of activity.
Thanks.

I wouldn't assume she would start plucking. She may come to 'tolerate' him by the 3rd or 4th day once she sees he is the only one around taking care of her. Before you leave put a couple of extra toys in there to keep her busy.

Will she go back into her cage for a treat? If so he could let her come out on her own and then coax her back in when it's time. It's a little difficult to give you better advice without knowing more about your AG.

Thanks a lot Grinder. I am afraid she won't go into the cage on her own. I'll ask my husband to put paper or cardboard piece every day inside her cage so she'll have something to chew on. Hope that you are right and she won't start plucking.
