How much should they weigh? Do they talk? How long is their life span? What should they eat? Are they compatable with other birds? If so what do you suggest? I own a severe maxaw. I ask cuz at the parrot rescue i work at there's one that was neglected with one eye. He needs vet care as well..his/her feet are clenched in a fist...and the owner of the rescue hasnt taken him/her in..so i thought id take the little one home. Im gonna get into so much trouble :smile005:

White Front Amazons are:
- a small to mid size Amazon in the 300 to 325g range
- 50 to 60 years
- a diet common to Amazons, limit /eliminate Sun Flower Seed and Peanuts (see Sticky in the Amazon Forum: I Love Amazons and look for the Segment regarding diet.
- generally more social then larger Amazons. But, as with all Parrots, it depends of the individual
- clenched claws? both or one? There is excellent advise regarding Handicapped Parrots / Handicapped Birds.
- a visit to an Avian Vet is highly recommended.
- Remember to keep separate any new members to your household

I cannot support 'taking' the property of others. Clearly, you are referencing suppling emergency medical care and recovery support in a safe location.

I hope that this helps.

Poor baby. I wonder if it is bumblefoot? That is caused by an infection, so perhaps a vet could help him. We had a one eyed OWA who lived pretty well until the age of 47.

I am so glad you are going to help this one. I HATE to see these beautiful creatures abused or neglected.
