First of all, a happy and prosperous new year to everyone.

Now, I'm worried about my ringneck: I came home from the New Year party and it turns out that I contracted a cold from one of my friends. What worries me is that my ringneck Alex also started sneezing so I'm worried that he might have contracted the cold from me. He otherwise seems healthy, he's playful, curious, eats and drinks normally.

Is it even possible? If so, how do you go about treatment?

Hi and welcome to the forum:)

No, it is not possible for our Parrots to catch Colds and Flu from Humans.

There are several web sites that explain this. Here is one of them..

Can My Bird Catch My Cold?

Thanks for the answer.

So I'm just being overprotective over my 3-month old bird. =)

Yes:) As long as nothing is running out of her nose and/or her nose has nothing crusty or dried around it you should be fine. My grey makes a coughing noise when I'm sick.
