Buddy Quaker missing one leg
I currently do not have any birds but am madly in love with a Quaker named Buddy that my friend adopted. His parents chewed off one leg in the nest (got both of his sister's off) before he was rescued. He's very young and needs a lot of attention. I would love to get one myself but cannot afford one right now. I live in SW Fl. If anyone has one they need to adopt out please let me know.:green2:

Hi and welcome to the forum, I know for a fact that our parrot rescues here in Florida are full of Quakers looking to be adopted, you may try looking on petfinder.com as many rescues advertise their rescue birds for adoption there, good luck and enjoy your stay :)

Hello and welcome, glad you wanting to adopt a bird, so many seeking good homes.
Sorry I not familiar with facilities in your are, Bobby has given valuable info. Sure spiritbird will offer her advise, when reading your post, and hopefully other members as well.
Good luck

Here's a link to a specific Quaker forum they have an adoption section also that you may wish to look thru

Just don't forget to come back here still ;)

Thank you it was really helpful. My gracious friend has given me her Quaker who I will bring home next week on a trial basis. He's the one I've know since she got him and have fallen in love with.:green2:

We have 20 cats (rescues or offspring of rescues) and a dog (also a rescue...there are 3 other dogs in the home) Buddy will start out in my travel trailer (aka the west wing) with short supervised visits inside until we adjust. Maggie our Australian Shepard may have the hardest time as she is Mommy's girl. :)
