i had a cage picked out. but my mom wants it a BIT smaller so it will fit next to my computer. the currently picked one would be like 5 in to big..... so, i am trying to find a cage just as cheap(or cheaperXD) and ALMOST as big with a perch on top(playtop). i am having no luck. i find them for the same price, but they are like 20 in. the other one was like 35. i know the "minimum" for a quaker is 18x18 in. but i feel that is to small(i feel everything"minimum" is to small.....i live by the rule "bigger is better". i lizard cage is 3 times as big as the "minimun"!!!!) and most of what i find in like 20 in. which isnt much bigger. evn thought he will be out of cage over 6 hours at LEAST daily, i want the biggest cage possible. i cant be more that 35in with a seed skirt/catcher(what ever you call it...lol). and i would prefer it to have one(to help a BIT at least with cleaning lol.) and as cheap as possible. i am on a tight budget.

I don't know how much the other one cost but this one might work for you.

that is a nice looking cage. but acually, i just got home from my favorite pet store(havent been there in FOREVER!!!!!) and they have a cage a little bit bigger than that(not much, like 3 or 4 in...) and about the same price. and i wouldnt need to worry about shippingXD. so if it is between those two, it is from the store.....thanks for that though! anyone else, anything?

thanks guys. but i just found out my dad is buying me a cage!!!! it was going to be for my birthday but then when i was talking to him he found out that i will most likely get the bird before then(in january). so that means money isnt as much of a problem(he isnt spending 100's and 100's of dollars but more than i would of been able to alone) so i think i will get the one at my local store. i just gota take a tape measure there to make sure it will fit. but it should. im so happy!! now that is one less thing for me to worry about..... now just a playstand(i am making), several t stands and toys/food. so happy! thanks guys!

hey guys. i am still confused on which cage i am getting. i got it down to a few.

King's Cages - Avian and Pet Bird Cages, Supplies, Food, Toys, Perches, Aviaries, Pluck No More
this one was recommended to me by a parrot store near me. well not *recommended* but they said it would be great for a quaker.

EZ Care Playtop Bird Cage - Cages Re-Direct - Featured Products - PetSmart
this one was not recommender by anybody. but just by what i have learned here this looks pretty good.

HQ Medium Double Playtop Bird Cage - Presented by BirdsComfort.com
again, not recommened by anybody. but it looks good.

out of those what would be the best choice? do you guys have any other ideas?

the cage recommended by dishgal1 is also a good choice for me. out of those 4, what is the best?

I would go with the marvelous XL Chateau cage at Petco. The price is great, and free shipping. It is a Big, beautiful cage.

Great choice Artemis.

Marvelous Pet Supplies Chateau X-Large Bird Cage at PETCO

That was the cage I was going to get before I found mine on Craigslist.

The second cage although it is tall, 26x24" is tiny. Wider is better than taller. I would NOT spend that much for the first cage.

the kings cage has a toy hook, other one doesn't. i think the bird and you would like that feature. what are the cage requirements for a quaker? i thought 24" long?

the *minimum* for a quaker is 18x18 inches. so both cages are big enough. and for the hanging toys above the perch on top, although the one has a hook, right above where i am putting the cage, in the ceiling is the support, so eventually i will hang a mini play gym above it. lol. i think i will go with the prevue hendyrx ccage just cuz it is a big bigger. thanks a ton guys!
