I came across this ad. They’re not mine but are located 10 minutes from me. They are filthy, so much it makes me sick. They’re asking for $400 for the pair. If anyone wants to help these birds out! I can pick them up and hold them for you and clean them up. Poor birdies... :(

Oh my God. Please report the bottom feeders who own those birds.

I don’t have their contact, just a round about area. I’m right outside their city here. Those birds haven’t had a clean cage is ages, they can’t even stand no their perches without filth. I was hoping somewhere here would be willing to help them. I don’t have an extra $400 to get them but can hold them and care for them for someone if they need time to pick them up.

Yes please report that immediately! Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

They haven’t replied to me. I wish I had their address. It looks like the worst kind of situation.

If they take $75 I would keep them! Just can’t do the $400.

Horrific! Can't imagine the hordes of microscopic critters lurking in that mess at the bottom. And they reveal she lays "alot of eggs" as though that is a bonus??

Has anyone reported the ad?

I tried to. I’ve contacted the local bird rescue, they can’t do anything about it. They said that unless they surrender them then there’s nothing they can do. They said that they’re young and were probably bred there and they can’t buy them because it only encourages the behavior. I think they got them to breed and the eggs are sterile or get infected because of the terrible situation they’re in. I wouldn’t even keep a lovebird in that size cage, let alone 2 quakers! I feel helpless. Those poor birds are doomed. They’re marketing to more people like them. I want to get them but can only imagine the ilk that would come into my home and be exposed to my babies. It’s a very sad situation...

That's just disgusting and it made my stomach turn...those poor birds. $400...See, that's the problem. They don't care about these birds at all, well obviously they don't, but they'll make them live in that tiny cage in filth, bugs, and disease until someone coughs-up the ridiculous amount of money they want for them in the condition they're in. They may have all kinds of parasites, infections, etc. And they are trying to breed them in that situation? That's just horrid, and no one can or will do anything about it because legally they can't...

I'd love to know how this does not qualify officially as "Animal Abuse and Neglect" to the point where the authorities come and take them away. Rescues and shelters won't do anything, but who is the authority in that area of NC that is in-charge of inspecting and removing animals that are being abused or neglected? There has to be an agency that does this.

What county of NC is this in?

That’s a great idea. It’s Cabarrus County. I will do some research. Maybe the rescue would know... gosh those birds have been on my mind since I first saw them. I don’t know who could look at another living soul and think that situation is okay.

I saw a poor African Grey for sale on the same site.....it was in terrible shape also! Why do people get birds??? Located in williamston, NC I tried to adopt it but they never responded....
