Cockatiels- RIP Charlie 2012, Zac 2006.
Here's the perch I made today. I used some PVC end caps as feeding dishes. I thought this would be good to sit at the table with us while we are eating dinner. Also, I have some longer lengths of pipe to replace the upright poles when we go away in our Jayco van so that the perch will sit higher off the ground! :)

You did a great job, very cool! I'd like to make something like this because after a while, my arm goes numb from holding it up as a perch when my fids are out.

Our GCC tries to eat off our plates if she's out during dinner, lol.

Great job! I love it! :D

What size caps are the cups? And how did you connect them? I am about to make one of these myself. I got 2" caps but they are kind of small, there was a big price difference between 2" and 3"...
Thanks!

Yeah, I only got the 2" ones. I agree that they look a bit small but I figured that seeing as it is for my GCC they are prob big enough for one meal! I attached them by gluing them to the small end caps that fit the pipe (see pic below). This way I can remove them from the perch to wash them! I actually had to get my husband to grind the tops of the caps as they were domed so wouldn't have stuck together but I'm sure you can find flat ones! :)
Make sure you post some photos when you're done!

it's adorable, i think that is a great way for your birdie to enjoy being a part of the flock at dinner time :D

The dishes look pretty high for a green cheek. Other than that, looks great!

It would also make a great training perch!

With lowered feed dishes- they are as low as I can get them now so I hope they are ok there! I'll find out soon enough I suppose! :)

Guess you need to get your little greeny home so you can perfect it! ;)

I sure do! Oh my goodness, longest wait of my life (except maybe for my pregnancies! :D). We decided in May that we wanted a GCC so have been waiting since then! Argh! Another 6 or 7 weeks to go! I am getting super excited!

Ok, here's mine. I got stainless steel screws and screwed the caps on, but the are easy to twist off for washing.

That looks awesome! Great job!

So great! I'm stealing this blueprint and making one.

What did you use to wrap around the main perch? Vet wrap?

Vetwrap, great idea! The perch looks awesome and I love what you did with the end-cups!

Come to think of it, I probably only need one cup since the screw, i think, will make water leak...

That's why I used the 2 end caps glued together - to avoid screws. That way they are water tight! :D
