Puffing up when I come home

I think it is normal but I wanted to ask other U2 owners. When I come home Justine usually makes a whining noise and fluffs out her feathers. Then when I pick her up she runs all over me, sometimes climbing down the back of my shirt then down my arm then back up. Sometimes I can't get to sit still.

Sometimes when a group of people come over she sits still and close to me. With other groups she is excited and sometimes says hello alot.

Just wanted to get U2 owners input. Any thing I should to when she is puffy? I pet her under her wings and pop some of her new feathers.

I'd agree, when our U2 fluffs up we usually say "Fluffy!" and he usually calms down pretty quickly. It's almost like a person shaking their head. I don't know if this is 100% true but I've learned from experience petting a cockatoo's back and under its wings tends to get my boy more excited than calming him down (it's my understanding petting a cockatoo's back/rump is a sexual thing).

She does that for me.. When Pick her up and start to per her she will raise her wings for me to pet her under her wings. Sometimes she will just flip her head upside down for me to pet her under her beak.

Just a word of caution, I would be cautious on letting a Cockatoo on the shoulders. They may seem cuddly and sweet, they can lash out just as easy within seconds. Please do be careful when you allow a large parrot on your shoulders.
