Last night I came home from work to find my mother finishing making dinner. She had made pan seared chicken with steamed garlic fresh french green beans, mashed sweet pataoes and she was pulling the home made berry cobbler from its hiding place in the cooled oven..... Sounds amazing right?

The most amazing thing though wasn't the smells, it was the fact that sitting on the counter were my fids and rats bowls, filled with unseasoned steamed beans, cooked sweet potato cubes with a pinch of Cinnamon, shredded unseasoned chicken (for the rats and my Gcc who is a meat feid so she gets a small taste) and fresh berries.

Without missing a beat she announced she was going to feed the 'children' and walked away with the bowls on a tray. She thought to feed my babies first!!! My heart broke :)

When she came back out to the kitchen, she had my B&G with her and he sat on her arm as she fixed them both a plate(his like the others got) and sat on the couch. We sat at the couch as he sat on her lap and ate his dinner.

After eating Rhage wanted to play. One of his favorite things to do is to hiss and bluff at you. Which we ignore. Unfortunately he wasn't paying attention to how close he was to the edge and in the process of trying not to fall he grabbed my arm.. Hard. Left a nice dent, almost breaking skin. Mom say the whole thing yet never shyed away from him as we continued to play.

And to Rhage's absolute credit, after the incident he was extremely cautious about his mouth with me the rest of the night. After wearing down he fell asleep on my chest as we finished a movie.

It was so amazing to see my mother so calm with him and caring about my kiddos. She is more confident with my Macaw than with my little hellion of a Jenday. Both of their hearts amaze me 💜💜💜

My Mother was a saint, but bless her, she never "GOT" the bird thing.
She was always generous and tolerant, but her facial expression and big eyes always gave her away. By some coincidence or oddity, she often mistakenly referred to the Rb as a Patagonian Condor. She would tell people this at parties and such. I can only imagine what they thought.
Your Mom is a jewel!!!!
Please tell her that she is a darling of the Forums Folks.
