Hello Everyone, I have posted a few questions to your forum recently about cages. I thought I would properly introduce myself and flock. Spyro is our newly adopted Catalina macaw and boy is he darling, I am attaching a few irresistible photos I took today- could be motherly love? but I thought it was the cutest thing ever when he fell asleep like this (does it not look like he is smiling?). We also have a boisterous budgie, a lovebird with ADHD, and a feisty male TAG . I've had our TAG since I was a teenager and he is now 18! Anyway, I have enjoyed reading through your posts and seeing everyone's beautiful babies. Thank you all for your advice on cages! Any baby raising advice is also gladly accepted:)
Amanda

Spyro is just adorable! We'd love to see the rest of your flock members too!

That's awesome you've had your TAG for 18 years! :) I love the way TAG's look. I've had my Red Bellied (Robin) since he was just weaned and he turns 20 this month.
Welcome to the forum :)

Yep he is 9 weeks today! We've had him for a few weeks now, I can't believe how fast they grow! He is flapping his wings and playing with toys now, it's adorable. Yes, I'm hand-feeding him, he is already 1050g! He has an amazing appetite:) Our 14 yr old son is a bird 'whisperer' and has wanted a Macaw for years. He was 7, when we were at my former brother in laws home and he came walking upstairs with their large intimidating Military Macaw on his arm (this bird did not like kids either). Yeah, I about had heart failure. Anyhow, pet store birds, friends birds, mean/aggressive birds, they just act different with him it's awesome. So this baby has a home even after I'm long gone- that's the grand plan anyway.

GW Joe, saw pics of your new baby, Wow, he is stunning! Thanks for the welcome!
Ravensgryf, doesn't time fly! I also got Waco (the TAG) just after he was weaned, he turned 18 in May. He is a very opinionated dude, I just took this picture of him, he loves our big grey fridge and he'll get ya good should you try and remove him before he is ready, haha. Our daughter is in the process of taming the little budgie so he is only semi-willing to take treats and what not from you, but I could tell I was a bit too close for comfort with the camera, but he seems happy and full of song. And then the lovie, she is honestly a spoiled brat, seriously, she runs the house and it has always been her way or the highway, lol.
Thanks again for the welcome!

Beautiful flock there! :) My hubby is a "bird whisperer" too. He's barely even a bird person, but even aggressive birds (and all animals) just sense something about him. Some people just have "it" with animals whatever it is... I know I don't! :(

Awwwww! You've got an adorable baby! Love the photos!

Welcome to the forum. :)

Spyro is a beautiful baby! What a cute name. CONGRATS! Thanks for sharing the photos.

Your flock is gorgeous! Spyro is just precious:)
I look forward to hearing more about your flock (and seeing more pictures).

I was always the same way. I could just walk up to a bird and pick them up... and for the most part they let me. My daughter is better with Big Macs than some of the other species.

Welcome to the forums.
