I've gotten, and replied to, three private messages from somebody, but apparently she's not getting them. They're also not in my "sent items" folder.

Also, I'm having an extraordinarily irritating time trying to reply to *anything*. This has been going on a couple weeks now. But it seems like the page is reloading which is taking the curser out of the reply box, so I have to stop every half second to three seconds to put the curser back in and continue typing. It's extremely aggravating.

I have that problem on the PC but not on the Mac or the tablet. If you look in the lower left corner of the browser window, in the frame, you might see some JavaScript commands running. Installing anti-malware software (malwarebytes is what I use) can help. Also make sure to close out the browser regularly and reboot the device to clear out crud and cache.

I only have Apple products. I don't have the issue on my phone or tablet, just the iMac and MacBook. I have anti-malware software on all of the laptops and desktops in the house. :(

Also, I tend to power down my desk top every night because it's in the bird room, and that's the machine I'm having the most trouble with.

Weird. Does the problem happen if you're in an incognito or private tab? What's your browser - safari, chrome, other? What version of the OS? I would say PM me but it sounds like that isn't working..

PM's seem to be hit or miss. I am behind one upgrade on my iMac and MacBook OS's and tend to use safari. I think when I get home I will check with chrome and see what happens.

I had that exact same problem, and it was exasperating. I did find a fix,but I want to check a couple of things before I recommend it.

yes try a different browser, chrome is highly recommended.

Haven't yet experienced difficulties with the PM function. Sorry, that is frustrating!

Oh yeah, the keyboard lock-ups and cursors kicked out of the field are epic. I experience this with Chrome and it seems related to banner videos at top and bottom. When I can delete them by clicking on the "X" all is fixed. Trouble it doesn't always work. Chrome is my preferred browser with PF when it works because of speed.

I use Chrome, IE, and Firefox on my PC and find the latter two are slow, and IE is almost intolerable.

No problems ever using IOS via iPad or iPhone. I greatly prefer to surf forums with my PC, and using dual browsers is very helpful doing mod work.

Will bring this to the attention of fellow mods and brainstorm for ideas. Computer tech stuff is NOT a strength!

I have the same issue- whenever I hit the space bar when typing a reply, it stops thinking I am in that box. I am on a Mac, currently in Safari. I have taken to typing my reply in a text editor, copying it, and pasting it in.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, as well as for the suggestions about how to get around it. We're looking into it behind the scenes and will get back to you as soon as we can with a response. Might take a few days since it is the weekend, but please be patient with us while we touch base with Admin.

I periodically have that cursor jumping problem. I just keep a wordpad document handy, type my post there, then cut-paste to the thread.

Not sure of the cause of all of the problems, but one possibility for messages not being in your reply box, there is a setting in the user profile where you save sent messages. I think, by default it is off and does not save replies!

It's a sudden change. I've had it set to save copy in my "sent" items since forever. All of a sudden it's stopped without me doing anything to change the settings.

Hey, I may have found a partial fix. I've been fooling around with installing and removing browser extensions to see what affected the performance. The worst offender was Amazon. I had an Amazon plug-in, "Add to Wishlist" that was handy because you could use it to add items for sale on other websites to your Amazon wish list. Amazon's replacing that with Amazon Assistant. I found the Amazon plug ins nearly impossible to remove. I'd uninstall them in control panel, then they'd be back again, or I'd make multiple attempts to uninstall one component and it would never go away. I'm guessing I probably have to boot in safe mode without networking to do it, but I got enough components uninstalled to make a big improvement. In the lower left browser frame I could see Amazon components (which don't have Amazon in the name btw) generating near constant traffic. Once it was mostly gone, all that went away along with the jumpy cursor.

Also, AMAZON NOW TRACKS ALL YOUR BROWSING WITH THEIR NEW ASSISTANT. Read the TOS, see link. By accepting the plug in you give Amazon permission to track all your web browsing even when you're not interacting with the assistant. (Should this get a separate thread?)

Here are all the things I did to solve the problem on my PC. It's voodoo debugging, I don't know exactly what thing fixed the problem so I do them all (sacrifice the chicken, spray perfume, chant to Papa Legbe) I mean update Malwarebytes, scan for risks, remove Amazon components from the browser, remove other "helper" browser plug ins I don't use, update my antivirus software. Of course I have Flash disabled already (very vulnerable).

So very true! The Amazon ?tools? are so intrusive, they are almost impossible to remove! I ended up reinstalling windows to get it out of MIL's computer!
