Prefers the window

So my senegal Patrick was, until recently doing recall and stepping up etc.

Recently we put a perch up infront of the window and he spends all day staring out the window.
We back on to a woods and there is an abundance of life out there.

Unfortunately he now no longer pays any attention to us and won't to recall and barely step up.

Are we giving him too much freedom and he's becoming a badly behaved bird?

Oof, I totally hear you. I had/have the same issue with my White Bellied Caique sometimes. I'm starting to feel as though window-sitting, while I'm happy my little one enjoys it immensely, might not be good for our relationship either. I hope someone comes along to answer this question for the both of us! Hopefully this will act as a little bump for you
