Hi all. I recently contacted an avian supply store near me and asked if they carried stainless steel cages. They said they have powder coated stainless steel cages. I was confused to hear this, considering that stainless steel is already corrosion/rust resistant. Should I be wary of this claim? And if such things do exist then would they not be incredibly expensive? I appreciate all of you.

I have stainless steel cages, made by Caitec (or Featherland, the same company but the name differs depending on which country they're sold in). Personally I'm not aware of powder coated stainless steel, and as you say if they're genuinely stainless steel they don't need a further coating over the top. Someone else here may be able to verify the existence of powder coated stainless steel but I think I'd just stick with plain old stainless steel!
