Yes, Amigo is definitely SPECIAL! These birds ARE chewing machines ConureCrazy! When seeing this, doesn't it make you realize why we have so many disfunctional umbrellas and large 'toos? They need to be what they are.

Yes, cockatoos are meant to chew. I'ts pretty sad when someone gives up a 'too, or any other large bird, because they are destructive. That's what they are meant to do.

Hey MacawGuy! Cut your macaw loose, their beaks are BIGGER! Do macaws chew like that? I don't know?? Anyways, I now know why the Ausrtalian outback looks like it does!

This is done by Amigo for a reason, I'm sure of it. I believe that cockatoos in the wild, will try and find a mate, first things first, #1. They've got to have some place that a female will be attracted to. He can check that off of his list!

I think you might be right... He reckons he has to keep on chewing to attract a female... Poor guy... He'll never find one...

Wow , very impressive ! he puts termites to shame....lol

I wish we had full ownership of Jewelbird. I'd bring her to you. Her life is pretty grim in a vet's office.

Hi PortaPerch, is Jewelbird looking for a home? As much as I would love to bring in a mate for Amigo, I'm afraid of the consequences.

No, unfortunately, the present owner will not give her up permanently. It's not a good situation, but all we can do is take her for the occasional weekend, rather than have her sit in a closed office. From the other thread, you see what a proficient chewer she is.
