Poop question!

Before anyone starts, I've already got an appointment with the usual vet for Monday. Since that's so far off, I'm already picking out an emergency vet as we speak. I just want to know if the poop on my thumb in this photo this could possibly be blood.

In the last twenty-four hours Pepper has eaten his Zupreem pellets and
Lafeber's Sunny Orchard nutriberries with cranberries, apricots and dates. When I noticed the flecks in his poop, I started restricting his diet. He hasn't had any nutriberries since this morning, and I just took this photo fifteen minutes ago. Could the flecks be coming from the dried fruits? He seems to like them, the cranberries especially.

Again, I'm looking into getting him an appointment soon so I can be sure. Quick addition: his behavior is completely normal, he's not fluffed up and he's totally alert.

I'd say no, that isn't blood. To me that looks just like finely ground up pieces of digested food, and looks normal. It's of course my opinion, but I'd put money on it. It's a pretty clear photo.
Of course you know only a vet can truly put your mind to rest. I personally think it's fine.

Also to me, it doesn't look like the right color for blood. Blood wouldn't come out with distinct sharp edged shaped pieces either.

I didn't think so either, but I felt I had to ask. The color reminds me of these tiny orange seeds attached to the nutriberries. Could a bird eat these and pass that shell through? Absolutely no other food is coming through so his digestive system must be working. Urine and urates are both perfect.

Edit: I did the smart thing and looked up some ingredients in the nutri-berries, and discovered they have red millet in them. They look a lot like the bits in his poop. I might have found the reason why...

I recently noticed he's been chewing on an orange plastic toy so I removed that and all over plastic elements. That being said, there are bits of orange plastic on the bottom of the cage, so I don't think he's ingested them. Plus after I stopped feeding nutriberries, the flecks decreased. I'm still asking my vet to look at his dropping to determine what it is, but my bet is on the millet.
