Poop, gross but need to know

Hi everyone, so I changed Monkey to a mostly pellet diet, he gets 1 tsp of seed also and fruits and veggies. When I got him home his poops were small, formed green with white, now the are red today and pretty loose. I think he might be picking out the red pellets to eat, lol and I gave him strawberries today, I will stop the strawberries but does this happen with your birds that their poop changes like that, I must say I preferred the small poops to this, it's pretty gross just want to know its normal, thanks

The red pellets & fruit would explain the droppings. Fruit will also bulk up the droppings as well. As long as his droppings are a sort of brick red & not blood. To make sure take all the red pellets away & don't feed red colored foods for 24 hours. The droppings should return to a normal consistancy. By the way a conure holds on all through the night & the first poop of the day is very discusting. LOL.

i think its normal, after you feed them intensely colored food there poo sometimes turns that color. just to be on the sage side maybe you should give him pellets without dye ( i heard dye in the food isn't very good but my finches have some dye in their pellets and they're fine ) and see if they go back to normal coloring, if they're still red then i would worry, if not i'm sure its just the food. if its just the food making his poo red then i dont see any harm in feeding it to him. just keep an eye on him but he sounds fine .
