Aaa, poolside! We are just beginning to think of such things! Today, it seems like the World in Michigan opened up and come outside is allowed! Nothing like near zero wind and 68 degrees to enjoy life.

Maybe in June as they are using terms like a real warm-up in the works.

Love the photo's! Thanks for the display of things to come for those of us in the Great White North!

It’s been nice down here in Houston. Spring rains definitely getting us lately so this was a nice restbit.

Definitely looks like fun whish I had a pool!

I noticed the leg plucking, that's usually different than general plucking. Its often associated with chronic kidney or liver issues. I know you are a dedicated and knowledgeable owner. Sometimes the kidney issue has to picked up on an x-ray. Not done lightly if anesthesia is required i know!!

Did his last blood show any issues?

Edit: further reading hormonal frustrated parrots will pluck tail and between legs. You have mentioned your trials with a male ekkie and hormonal issues. So hopefully that all it is.

Typically feather plucking starts with chest and shoulders, and then can developed to all reachable feathers. When I see tail and leg plucking while chest is fine I think health issues.

Always appreciate the concern, Laura :)

Parker is tested annually, no issues. It’s all likely hormonal, unfortunately. He touches everything except his head and his wing coverts. Of all his primary AND secondary flight feathers he’s down to only 1.5 primaries on each wing, hence being outside without a harness (completely flightless). Hell molt in about 3 months - always in august - and will be fully feathered until Christmas or so when he starts the cycle again.

OK now I officially hate you Chris. Not only is it too chill here for pool days, but I turned mine into a giant goldfish pond ( getting too old for the hassle of pool opening, maintenance and closings and they keep the skeeters down). We started with 12 and 4 yrs later I have over 50, some getting big enuf to throw a hook and line after.

I wish I had a pool here, instead just a water retention area Basil and paprika don’t get to go out though because they are flighted. It’s been hitting the 90s now for almost three weeks. I will gladly take back winter!
