Pois favorite treat

Hi all, just wondering what is your poise favorite treat? What do you use for treats when training? I just got a baby brown headed and I'm still trying to figure out his favorite. He usually picks out these little hard shiny round seeds when given a few options but I don't know what they are. He also likes these little freeze dried fruits, I think it might be apricot or mango. One is in his mouth in this pic

Favorite treat besides fingers? Pine nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds.

Almonds. Is the nut Duncan picked out as his favorite so I'm using it for training purposes.

Rio loved her nutriberries and cashews. She and my husband had a daily morning routine that included a cashew.

Kiwi loves nutriberries too, but not as much as Rio.

Nutriberries will get Albert to immediately stop whatever he is doing, but as a trick training treat, pieces of almond or pistachio seem to be best.

Mine loves whatever I'm eating first. After that, he goes after almonds and pine nuts the most. Though he does have a thing for sugar snap peas too.

Ding! Cashews were Oscar's favorite too! It's the first thing I had to stop giving because of his "love handles"*. With most nuts (almonds, pecan, walnuts) he goes through a process of sloppy eating where typically (estimate) 80% ends up on the floor (where it is scooped up by the labs...). However, a cashew gets eaten 100% - he keeps looking for the last atom.**

It took some time experimenting, and the first year he wasn't really into food as a treat. After that he can't stop demanding "Oscar candy!" every 10 minutes.

* He's fine now BTW and almost back to his normal weight. He's much happier and livelier, and flies around a lot more - so much so that we really feel even more guilty for overfeeding him.

** I calculated that by body weight it would be the same as me eating 600 cashews... :54:

Robin, Griffin, and Raven LOVE Safflower seeds. They're tiny enough that you don't have to worry about them getting too much, and they will do most anything for one. They're so small that they probably think "I stepped up and went in my cage for that miniscule piece of nothing?!" They fall for it everytime though lol.
