Pneumonia contagious to birds?

So I just read on another thread here that most illnesses will not pass between species, but however pneumonia is one of the ones that can and will.
What are the circumstances to allow that?
My dad was diagnosed with pneumonia and bronchitis the other day. He doesn't handle Yoshi, nor does he stick his face to his cage(atleast I don't think he does..) but is Yoshi still at risk even being in the same house?
I feel awful.
I know it sounds weird I'm more worried about Yoshi than my dad, but my dad is a hardy guy and he's already been to the doctor to get medicine.
Yoshi on the other hand.. I haven't even been able to see him lately, since the last thing *my* body needs is something like pneumonia. Especially being pregnant, I'm quite vulnerable to stuff like that.
Their contact is limited. My dad probably passes through the room that he's in a couple times a day, but for the most part it's my brother in there. My dad isn't bird-savvy so he doesn't do too much with him. Is there anything I need to do/ask my dad to do to make sure he doesn't pass it to Yoshi? (Other than the obvious, don't stick your face in his cage, or lick him, or share food, or whatever else you wouldn't do with a human.)
:( Any advice is appreciated.

I would tell your dad to keep his distance from Yoshi right now! Do the main thing such as sanitizing and keeping hands cleaned. Don't cough on or near the bird.

Oh my gosh! Pneumonia is very dangerous to your dad! I hope he gets well very soon. :) And for your Ekkie, I would just tell him not to be near the bird and sanitize his hands and face often. Again, tell him that I said get well soon! :))))
