6 year old quaker named Penguin
One year old green cheek conure/sun conure hybrid
As I posted a couple of weeks ago, my, now 6 month old, conure had started plucking. We took him to the vet and the vet declared that he WAS molting but she also informed us that the air in our house was very very dry making Pickles's new feathers very itchy. She gave us medicine to put in his water and we bought a bird-safe humidifier . His feathers have grown back almost completely!!! We couldnt be more happy. Also his vocabulary is improving very quickly. Our new quaker has taught him "Whats the matter?" "pretty pretty" "baby birdddd" "woof woof" and a few other things. We couldnt be more happy!!!:)

Here is some pics. If you scroll down you can see what his stomach looked like before:

Great to see his feathers have almost fully grown back in!!!! What was the medicine she prescribed?

This is great news!! :) Cute pictures

So great I love hearing of pluckers recovering, I have a harlequin macaw who is on her way to recovery as well! So maybe your guy stopping will somehow transmit to my sweet girl:p.

Yay! She looks great. I'm sure you are relieved!

Umm I am not sure what medicine we used. It went in his water though.

That is so good to hear! Sounds like it is going really well!
