My Goffin Yoshi continually plays with his food. He loves to toss it over his back and seems to giggle whe it rolls down , lolol.
I hate to be the "fun police" of sorts , but we all know how expensive good pellets can be. I know I can't really stop him from doing this , but I clean the bottom everyday because I dont like to leave fruit and veggies lying on the bottom after they eat . I am amazed the amount of pellets I throw out everyday ! I know it's part of parrot ownership , BUT , would it be a bad thing if I picked out the good pellets and put them back into the dish ?
I mean , seriously , most are in a pile , not pooped on , and I hate to throw them out ! I have tried a smaller pellet , thinking they might eat more of it if it's smaller , but it seems to me there is the same amount of waste as the larger pellets.

Oh , have I mentioned that Yoshi will come find me when I call him and I'm in the other room ? He is just amazing ! He has to fly around a tight corner and make a sharp right to get to the bedrooms and he manages it beautifully
I just had to add that because I'm very proud of my boy
Rosie freaks and has followed suit , not the whole way , but most of it !
She is following him , but still , at least they both come to me , lol.

Funny you posted this. I think the same thing everytime I clean Kia's cage. And I notice everytime I give her fresh pellets she goes over to the bowl and just throws some out. Every single time lol.

Amigo did that, too. He NEVER ate them, just threw them. That's when I decided to grind them and mix with his oatmeal. THAT...he will eat! Yoshi sounds amazing, the more I hear of goffins, the more I like them.
